Challenge
Our first challenge is a Japanese flower viewing festival! You may draw, write take photos what ever works best for you. If you do not know what a flower viewing is go google it.
These NEED to be in the submission

Flowering cherry tree (aka sakura tree)
2 or more canines (dog, fox, wolf doesn't matter)

These will give you a bonus during judging

Somehow using the characters that you can find here: hurry and submit yours if it isn't there already!

Submission are due June first! That gives you 3 months.

The group favs are now listed on the front page. Right now we only have folders for tutorials and Canine Character Sheets (or fursonnas) If you have, or know about things that should be put in these, feel free to suggest them to the club.

Also I'm working on our first contest! But I need some prize ideas, I can't really afford much in the way of VPC, but I can swing a dye or imports. I could do other things as prizes, but I don't really know what else so post with ideas!

I also want to hear some themes for Spring, like activities or such that you think of time of the year.

I would like to point out some nice places full of stock images ready for you to use in banners, manips, or the like!

First off I'll start off with some clubs I've run across here on DA!
Pro - Lots of animals, nicely organized into folders by species. Con - No quality checks
Pro - Neatly organized by colour. Pro/Con - Horses only.
Pro - Lot of everything. Con - Very broad categories.
Pro/Con - Mostly landscapes. Con - not a ton of material yet.
Pro - Lots of everything. Con - Broad categories, not a lot of stuff.

Hey guys! Dreamy here.
I've been thinking lately about some projects I'd like to work on both while I'm MIA and just bored(x3). So I thought I'd run these ideas by you all and see what you think. And of course, if anyone else is inspired by these ideas go right ahead and do them. They're all to better us as artists and help VPians.


So the first thing is that I've been thinking lately of making tutorials of "my way" of drawing things, as Horse says.
I was thinking paws, maybe figure out a way to do a lining tutorial... Since those seem the be the things people compliment most/ask me about most. But if you all have any other suggestions(I think Mustang wanted me to do a sketch example, of how I flesh out my drawings?) feel free to suggest what you want ME to do, and what you just want to see. :3

The second one is more along the lines of things for newbies and people needing pictures for their dogs but they don't have the money to commission an artist to draw it for them! I was thinking of making template type things for popular breeds of all the accepted colors, and maybe do some of the more popular gift colors as well. These would be completely free for anyone to use, etc.

So what do you all think? Express your thoughts, give suggestions, etc.
The best thing about these is that unlike commissions, there's no time limit! XD

Evlon here! Making polls for this on a non DA site so non DA members can vote as well. Going to do a double system, one for the general breed group and another for more popular breeds. Interestingly enough the breed poll is actually a list of the most popular breeds of 2009, I am curious to see how VP will match up to the real world in that regard XD

You are now allowed to submit ONE art/photo/story to the featured folder. You should make this your best piece, the one you want people to look at and go "I say, I do indeed believe I would rather fancy commissioning this person." Ok, perhaps they wouldn't say it like Evy would, but you get the idea.

Why Feature

Features are shown on the front page of the club, this gives your piece, and you more exposure.

I would love for the featured folder to become a quick index of VP artist for commissioners.

It serves as sort of a "Look what we can do!" thing, because no one artist/writer can hog the folder by mass submitting to it. (you know like Evy does on gifties >.< )

What Should I Feature?
Well good question! I would like to encourage you to keep it VP related, as we are the VP fan club. Remember these will be showing on the club's front page so some sort of consistency is nice.

How do I know what is my best?
Generally you will know, but in the case that you don't you may feel free to submit your 3 best pieces and the one that is judged to have the best: quality, craftsmanship, and concept of design will be picked as your 'show' piece.

I submitted one, and now I want to change it
Ok, well you don't have this problem yet but you will (I can see the future!) If you want to change your featured art please just note the club with the title of the art and that you want to replace it. Then submit your new one.
